Wow, haven't blogged in almost a month.... heheh, it's been rather busy.
School's started and that always brings some stress and busy times in my life. I'm hoping to get through this year (my 3rd in management) with high enough grades to get into a Marketing or Human Resource option next year... *crossing fingers*. My schedule seems more tailored for me this semestre... I specifically tried to avoid morning classes since I was never motivated to go to those, with the commute and the fact that I'm a night owl. Haven't seen too many of the Zoo Crew on campus yet... but was able to see a few Management friends from last year. Saw Lauren once on campus and saw Karen and Andrew a couple of times off campus, hoping to see more of 'em on Thursday after class. *sigh* work is piling up... especially various readings. grrr.
On the vehicle dilemma, we've finally decided on a car..... *drum roll*... we've acquired a brand-new 2004 Honda Civic LX, metallic blue in colour! Pretty nice car and we got it for a really good deal, though I question just how many opportunities I'll get to drive it...heheh. Both my parentals seem to enjoy the car a lot, even my dad who said he prefers bigger cars. So yeah, I might see more of the Impala than the Civic, but it's all good... as long as I've got 4 wheels to get me places. Man, insurance has skyrocketed with the addition of the Civic... those insurance bums. :P We're giving the Sable to our pastor at church, hope he can use it for a few more years. While I've had my nuances with that car, it has served me well the past year. Heheh.
I just returned from the CCCO retreat at the beautiful Ottawa Valley Pentecostal Camp, where my worship team and I led the worship music there. It was a great experience and a very inspiring one. The CCCO organizers (David and Amy) were very well-organized and very hospitable with us, which we all appreciated. The CCCO people were also very welcoming and we seemed to fit right in. Karen says they've made big steps recently in their spiritual development, for which I am very thankful for. It was also good to see Pastor James again, who was the speaker for the event. I think our worship team did well in leading worship, and the people there were very responsive and willing to worship, which always helps and moves me to step my worship and worship-leading up a notch. I was especially inspired by people like Denise and Carmen, who despite having their money being unfortunately stolen, were engulfed in their worship whole-heartedly with huge smiles on their faces, completely oblivious to what happened to them. It was a privelege worshipping with them all. The weekend (for me) consisted of lots of great food, many basketball battles (woohoo!), some absolutely hilarious skits, thought-provoking messages and sharing, and even some studying late Saturday night. Also, as usual, enjoyed the company of my worship team: Kevin, Jerry, Candace, and Karen...who all devoted their time and energy without question to help me out with this event. Much thanks to the whole team, I truly appreciate everything they've brought to the table. Overall, a great if exhausting weekend. Praise God!
Worship workshop coming up on Saturday... gotta prep my part. Hope it'll be helpful to people looking to assert themselves into the music aspect of the worship team.
